On October 6th, 2012, the Career Services team volunteered at Impact Lives, an organization in the Minneapolis area that supports global humanitarian efforts. Impact Lives partners with other local and global organizations, including City of Hope and Hope International, which empower communities and fight poverty and oppression. As part of the Global Day of Service, the Career Services team engaged in a food packing project that provided hunger relief to civilians in Afghanistan.
Impact Lives also offered a powerful exhibit that focused on hunger in the U.S. and beyond, global poverty, specific issues such as healthcare and water shortages, and violations of human rights. Through this experience, Career Services staff developed a deeper understanding of global issues.
We are proud to support Walden’s social change mission and we encourage you to take advantage of the many opportunities our university offers to give back to local and global communities: http://servicenetwork.waldenu.edu/
